Fast flicks are rarely the problem. It is the last few millimetres: your crosshair slides past the target and you have to correct back. FPSgrip PS5 Precision Rings sit around the base of your DualSense thumbsticks and add resistance to every movement. Small adjustments feel calmer, big flicks still go through. They add no height, so your sticks keep their normal size and feel.

What's in the pack

  • 6 precision rings in 3 strengths, 2 of each
  • Easy: light resistance, the place to start
  • Soft: balanced, where most players end up
  • Hard: maximum control, for sniping at high sensitivity
  • No tools: the ring goes around the base of the stick

Works with the PS5 DualSense, the DualSense Edge and the PS4 DualShock 4.

How to pick your strength

Start with Easy and play a few matches. Want more resistance? Move up to Soft, which is where most FPS players settle. Hard is for players who snipe at high sensitivity and want the stick as steady as possible.

Precision rings and stick drift

Rings do not fix drift. Drift comes from wear inside the controller. With very mild drift, the extra resistance can make the stick feel steadier around the centre, but nothing gets repaired. If your character keeps walking on its own, the controller needs a repair. We go into detail in do precision rings prevent stick drift?

Rings plus extenders

Rings control the movement, PS5 FPS Extenders add range with a 15 mm aiming stick and a 10 mm movement stick. They fit together on the same stick, and the Pro Kit bundles both with controller grips for €25.95. Prefer rings with thumb grips? The Aim Kit is €14.95.

Also on Xbox or Switch?

Xbox Precision Rings are made for Series X|S and Xbox One, and the Universal Aim Rings cover Switch and mixed setups. Everything for your DualSense is in the PlayStation collection.

Frequently asked questions

Do aim rings actually work?
They change how the stick feels, not how good your aim is. The ring adds resistance around the base of the stick, so at high sensitivity small corrections overshoot less. Think of it as more control, not extra aim.
Are aim rings worth it?
If your aim often runs past the target, yes. You get 6 rings in 3 hardnesses (Easy, Soft and Hard) for €8.95, which makes them one of the cheapest upgrades for your controller, and you can find out which hardness suits you.
Do they work with the DualSense Edge stick settings?
Yes. On the Edge you can adjust stick sensitivity and deadzones in your controller profiles. Precision rings add physical resistance on top of that, so you can use both. Our guide to controller deadzone explains the settings side.
Will precision rings fix stick drift?
No. Drift comes from wear inside the controller. With very mild drift, rings can make the stick feel steadier around the centre, but they are not a repair. Our blog on PS5 controller drift explains what actually helps.
Which strength should I start with?
Easy. Play a few matches, then move up to Soft if you want more control. Hard is meant for sniping at high sensitivity.
More questions Fewer questions
Do precision rings affect aim assist?
No. Aim assist is built into the game, not the controller. The ring only adds physical resistance and does not change the input the stick sends, so aim assist works exactly as before.
What does a precision ring actually do?
It sits around the base of the thumbstick. When you push the stick, the ring adds resistance, so small movements stay small and your aim overshoots less. It does not limit how far the stick can go.
Do they make my sticks taller?
No. The rings sit at the base and add no height. For taller sticks, look at the PS5 FPS Extenders.
Do I need to adjust my deadzone?
You don't have to. The rings add physical resistance, while the deadzone is set in your game settings or, on the DualSense Edge, in your controller profile. Our guide to controller deadzone explains how it works.
Can I use them together with thumb grips?
Yes. The ring sits around the base of the stick and the thumb grip on top. That combination is also in the Aim Kit.
Can precision rings damage the thumbstick?
No. The ring is made of soft foam that compresses as you push the stick, so it does not damage the stick or the controller in normal use. You slide it on and off by hand.
How fast is delivery?
Orders ship as letterbox post. Netherlands and Belgium: 1 to 2 business days. Germany and France: 2 to 4 business days. Free from €14.95, otherwise €1.95 in the Netherlands and €2.95 to Belgium, Germany and France.
Can I return them?
Yes, within 30 days of delivery, unused and in the original packaging. Email info@fpsgrip.com and we will send you the instructions.
