Xbox thumbsticks move very freely. Fine in menus, less fine on high sensitivity in a ranked match, where every flick runs past the target. FPSgrip Xbox Precision Rings sit around the base of the stick and add resistance. A light push still moves easily, a harder push meets more pushback. Your aim stops overshooting, and the stick stays exactly the same height.

What's in the pack

  • 6 precision rings in 3 resistance levels
  • 2x Easy: light resistance for fast, aggressive play
  • 2x Soft: balanced, where most players end up
  • 2x Hard: maximum control, for sniping at high sensitivity

Fits the Xbox Series X|S controller, every Xbox One controller and the Xbox Elite Series 2.

Which ring first?

Start with Easy. If your aim still feels loose after a few matches, step up to Soft. Hard is for players who want the stick almost locked, mostly snipers on high sensitivity. Because there are two of each, you can test every level on both sticks.

Precision rings and Xbox controller drift

Drift means your stick sends input while you are not touching it. That comes from wear inside the controller, and a ring does not repair it. With very mild drift, the extra resistance can make the stick feel steadier around the centre. If your crosshair keeps creeping, the controller itself needs fixing. We wrote it out in full: do precision rings prevent stick drift?

Rings, extenders or both?

Rings add resistance, extenders add height. The Xbox FPS Extenders give your thumb a longer lever, with 15 mm on the right and 10 mm on the left. They stack well. The Aim Kit pairs precision rings with 8 thumb grips for €14.95 instead of €17.90.

Also on PlayStation or Switch?

The PS5 Precision Rings are the DualSense version, and the Universal Precision Rings suit a Switch or a home with several consoles. More upgrades are in our Xbox controller accessories.

Frequently asked questions

Do aim rings actually work?
They change how the stick feels, not how good your aim is. The ring adds resistance around the base of the stick, so at high sensitivity small corrections overshoot less. Think of it as more control, not extra aim.
Are aim rings worth it?
If your aim often runs past the target, yes. You get 6 rings in 3 hardnesses (Easy, Soft and Hard) for €8.95, which makes them one of the cheapest upgrades for your controller, and you can find out which hardness suits you.
Do they fit the Xbox Elite Series 2?
Yes. They fit the Elite Series 2, the Xbox Series X|S controller and every Xbox One controller.
Do precision rings fix Xbox controller drift?
No. Drift is caused by wear inside the controller, and no ring repairs that. With very mild drift, the resistance can make the stick feel calmer around the centre, but it is not a fix. Our article on what causes stick drift explains what actually helps.
Which resistance level should I start with?
Easy. If your aim still runs past the target, go up to Soft, which is where most players end up. Save Hard for sniping at high sensitivity.
More questions Fewer questions
Do precision rings affect aim assist?
No. Aim assist is built into the game, not the controller. The ring only adds physical resistance and does not change the input the stick sends, so aim assist works exactly as before.
Do they make the stick taller?
No. The ring sits around the base of the stick and adds resistance only. For extra height, look at the Xbox FPS Extenders.
Do the rings wear out?
With heavy use they slowly soften over time. You get two rings of each hardness, so you always have a spare for the hardness you use.
Can precision rings damage the thumbstick?
No. The ring is made of soft foam that compresses as you push the stick, so it does not damage the stick or the controller in normal use. You slide it on and off by hand.
How fast is delivery?
