Stock Xbox thumbsticks are short. That works fine for racing games, but in Halo or Call of Duty the small corrections on a target across the map are hard to land. FPSgrip Xbox FPS Extenders snap onto your stock sticks and make them about 40 percent taller. A taller stick works like a longer lever: the same thumb movement turns into a smaller move of your crosshair, so you correct more finely and overshoot less.

What's in the box

  • 1 pair: a 15 mm aiming stick for the right and a 10 mm movement stick for the left
  • Concave anti-slip top that keeps your thumb in place
  • Snap-on fit, no tools and no modding
  • 3 colours: black/red, full black and black/blue

Fits the Xbox Series X|S controller, every Xbox One controller and the Xbox Elite Series 2.

Why two different heights?

On an Xbox controller the left stick sits up top and handles your movement. It needs to stay quick, so it gets the shorter 10 mm. The right stick does the aiming, and that is where the taller 15 mm gives you the most control.

Give it a few matches

Taller sticks change the feel, not your settings. Most players end up nudging their sensitivity up slightly rather than down. Play two or three matches before you change anything.

Works well with

Xbox Precision Rings add resistance around the base of the stick, so your aim stops running past the target. Extenders give you range, rings give you control. The Pro Kit combines extenders, precision rings and handle grips for €25.95 instead of €32.85. Prefer to keep the stock height? Xbox Thumb Grips add grip with barely any extra height.

Also on PlayStation?

The PS5 FPS Extenders are the DualSense version. Every upgrade for your pad is in our Xbox controller accessories.

Frequently asked questions

Do thumbstick extenders actually work?
Yes, but they are not magic. A taller stick is a longer lever, so the same thumb movement turns into a smaller, finer correction on screen. Most players get used to them within a few matches.
Do they fit my Xbox One controller?
Yes. They fit every Xbox One controller, the Xbox Series X|S controller and the Xbox Elite Series 2. One pair covers one controller.
Can thumbstick extenders cause stick drift?
No. They sit on top of the stick and never touch the sensor inside the controller. Drift comes from wear inside the controller itself. To take them off, pull them straight up instead of prying at the edge.
Which height is best for sniping or close range?
Put the 15 mm on the right stick for aiming and sniping, and the 10 mm on the left stick for movement. If you mostly play fast close range fights, you can swap the two around or try a few matches without them to see what suits you.
Do thumbstick extenders change aim assist?
No. Aim assist is built into the game, not the controller. Extenders change how far your thumb travels, not the input the controller sends, so aim assist works exactly as before.
More questions Fewer questions
Are thumbstick extenders allowed in tournaments?
In online play, including ranked, yes. They are passive attachments that don't change what the controller sends to the console. For official tournaments, especially LAN events, always check the rulebook, because every organiser sets its own rules.
Which extender goes on which stick?
The 15 mm goes on the right stick, which you aim with. The 10 mm goes on the left stick, which you move with. That keeps movement quick and gives your aim the longest lever.
Do I need to change my sensitivity?
Not straight away. A taller stick means the same thumb movement gives a smaller turn in game. Most players end up nudging their sensitivity slightly up, but give it two or three matches before you touch anything.
Will they stay on while I play?
They snap onto the base of the stock stick instead of sitting loose on top, which stops them working their way round mid-match. Worth a check after your first few hours. If a pair does not hold, email info@fpsgrip.com.
Will they damage my Xbox controller thumbsticks?
No. They push on and pull off. Lift them straight up from the base instead of prying at the edge with something sharp, and the rubber underneath stays untouched.
How fast is delivery?
Orders ship as letterbox post. Netherlands and Belgium: 1 to 2 business days. Germany and France: 2 to 4 business days. Free from €14.95, otherwise €1.95 in the Netherlands and €2.95 to Belgium, Germany and France.
Can I return them?
Yes, within 30 days of delivery, unused and in the original packaging. Email info@fpsgrip.com and we will send you the instructions.
